Seminar for the quality and organoleptic characteristics of virgin olive oils with 10 samples, basic level
Available for participation either on-line or with physical presence in our Sensory Evaluation laboratory, in Rethymnon/Crete
Samples have been selected by our experienced and accredited team of tasters for a reliable and comprehensive organoleptic evaluation experience.
The quality categories of olive oil will be analyzed as well as its positive and negative characteristics (basic defects)
For those attending on-line, the personal olive oil samples will be send in a safe and stylish packaging.

The seminar includes a theoretical and a practical part
To participate in the seminar, no prior knowledge of organoleptic evaluation is required
The sample pack contains
- ten glass bottles of olive oil 20 ml
- informative material on the organoleptic evaluation and quality of olive oil
- special test glasses with suitable cover, recyclable and biodegradable.
- a special glass blue glass for organoleptic evaluation of olive oil
After receiving the samples we will set a suitable tasting time for you together
Seminar duration: Four hours via the ZOOM platform
The seminar can be held either at our laboratory facilities, or remotely via ZOOM and individual samples
Seminar cost: 350 euros. The cost does not include shipping of the samples, which will be calculated during your registration. There is no VAT charge due to the exemption
The seminar is personalized and open for the entire duration of the year, it is organized upon request, while it is also available in English.
Maximum number of participants: six people. For simultaneous registration of more than two people, a 20% discount is provided.

The Sensory Evaluation Laboratory of Crete ASR, with over 30 years of experience in the quality of olive oil, has its facilities in the Tria Monastiria area of Rethymnon.
It has an experienced team of testers and modern sample evaluation and training facilities. The laboratory and its team of testers are accredited by the ESYD and recognized by the International Olive Council (IOC) for the organoleptic evaluation of virgin olive oils and the issuance of relevant certificates that have international validity.
In addition to the above, sample evaluations are also carried out in the Laboratory with the provision of specialized instructions for reasons of appropriate batch categorization and the application of good practices “from the olive grove to the final product”
Especially for the development & organization of training days and seminars, our laboratory has also been certified according to EN ISO 9001-2015 by TUV/AUSTRIA-HELLAS
